West London rivals plotting summer move for 28-year-old Arsenal star

Danny Welbeck experienced many injury problems with Arsenal, but he could be a good attacking option for West Ham, who are understood to have been pondering a potential free move in the summer.

However, injury issues have hampered his time at the Emirates Stadium, though he has still managed to make 126 appearances in just over four years.

A Sky Sports News report has emerged this week suggesting that the former Manchester United man may have played his last game for the north London outfit.

The 28-year-old’s contract is up at the end of the campaign, and as he is currently sidelined with a long-term ankle injury, it has been claimed that the Gunners may let him go in the summer.

Marko Arnautovic has been the lone striker for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, but aside from now being injured himself, he has been linked with a move away – with Roma interested.

Should the Austria international end up moving away from London Stadium next year, then it would not hurt the Hammers to start monitoring Danny Welbeck to a Bosman summer move.

England striker is also a former teammate of Jack Wilshere, and he could probably be persuaded to join West Ham and to score goals for another London club.
